A story that began in 1963

The character of Astronaut Pereira is an interplanetary hero created by Mauricio de Sousa who made his debut in 1963 in strips in the newspaper Diário de São Paulo. Blond, with spiky hair and nicknamed “Astro,” he was the first Brazilian astronaut to appear in comics.

With a super-equipped spacesuit donated by the Jelly Men, Pereira’s only company is the “Computer”. From time to time he returns to Earth to fulfill his desires.

“But after traveling so much and focusing his priorities solely on work, our hero ended up losing his old childhood sweetheart, Ritinha, who married a colonel out of fear that the space bachelor would trade her for someone from the universe,” he says Turma by Monica wikipedia.

“Desolate, his stories reflected a “what if” of what his life might be like if he focused more on his family, transforming our explorer into a solitary traveler. But that doesn’t stop him from continuing his search for new life and civilization outside our planet.”
