Rafael Cobos commented on the origin of the project: “This is an initiatory journey for me in which I have great colleagues like Paco Baños. I came from being more linked to the thriller, to the action, but when this opportunity arose I opted for this project closer to my subjective self“.
Regarding the plot of the series and its protagonist, Cobos has remarked that it is the story of a woman, Lola, who, for having been a mother, has been relegated from the first social line and over time needs to rebuild that lost identity through love to your son. “I have made an emotional thriller, with the tension always present (…). The character of María León is one of the most complex I have ever written, and María is going to show us the wealth of registers that she has“.
The series will begin shooting next Monday, July 18 in Seville, will tell the story of Lola and her son Lorenzo. A relationship marked by the lack of communication between the two, the estrangement of the young man who begins to relate to radical groups, and the unconditional love of her mother. María León, who won the Goya for Best New Actress and the Silver Shell in San Sebastián for ‘La voz dormida’, plays Lola and stars in this series, which also includes Tamara Casellas (Silver Biznaga of the Festival of Malaga and the Sant Jordi Award for Cinematography) and the young Hugo Welzel, Numa Paredes and Germán Rueda.
“For me this is a challenge and a huge opportunity. My character, Lola, is a complex woman, full of nuances, and I assure you that I will put my heart into the project.“, declared the actress.
Cobos ((‘Model 77’, ‘Apagón’, ‘La Peste’) has two Goya Awards to his credit for his work on the scripts of films such as ‘La isla minima’, for which he won Best Original Screenplay, and the Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay for ‘The Man with a Thousand Faces’.
