Following the success of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, which hit theaters in 2019, the Netflix platform has reserved exclusive rights to two sequels. The first, The Glass Onion, which still has a large cast, sees a group of suspects arguing over their alleged crimes in a Greek villa. On May 24, the streaming giant announced the production of the third and final installment, Wake Up, Dead Man.
To know more about this much awaited film by the fans whodunit – an English term that refers to a subgenre of detective novels that revolve around murder, mystery and several suspects – here’s the latest information to date:
Casting: Who Are Expected to Star in Wake Up, Dead Man?
Let’s start with the main role, Benoit Blanc, the outstanding investigator, the hero of each opus. Actor Daniel Craig will reprise his role in the third film. It is his voice that we hear in the first teaser, which was revealed by filmmaker Rian Johnson.
Since one of the concepts of this franchise is mainly based on casting, this third part is not left out. Every day, Netflix announces new names in distribution, which continue to grow. Daniel Craig will reunite with Andrew Scott after meeting Sam Mendes in Spectre. The Irish actor recently played Tom Ripley in the Netflix series.
Actors Josh O’Connor and Kailey Spann also star from The Challengers and Civil War. The duo has a number of projects lined up and is establishing itself as a prominent talent in international cinema.
Among the young faces we can mention the name of Daryl McCormack, another Irish actor who starred with Emma Thompson in the comedy-drama My Dates with Leo, which was released in 2022. The much more famous and experienced Glenn Close will also play. Among the suspects are Wake Up, Dead Man.
Four more famous names are added to the lead: Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner and Josh Brolin. It is enough to offer a sparkling thriller.

Date: When is Wake Up, Dead Man coming out?
A Rian Johnson feature film has already been announced for Netflix in 2025. The first two films were released at the end of the year – Knives Out in November and Glass Onion in December. It’s a safe bet that the same will be true of Wake Up, Dead Man, which has yet to begin filming.
