Paul Di’Anno, former lead singer of Iron Maiden, has died at his home in Salisbury at the age of 66. Famous for being responsible for vocals on Maiden’s first two albums, the self-titled “Iron Maiden” and “Killers”. He was a member of the band from 1978 to 1981.
After leaving Iron Maiden, Paul Di’Anno maintained an up-and-down career, trying his luck with new bands like Battlezone and The Killers, as well as a few solo releases and special appearances.
In recent years Paul had struggled with serious health problems, forcing the singer to perform several shows in a wheelchair. Even in this situation, Paul continued to perform his shows, accumulating more than 100 shows as of 2023.
In September 2024, Di’Anno released his first career retrospective album, “The Book Of The Beast”, which contained highlights of his recordings since leaving Iron Maiden.
