The Italian mini-series released on Netflix two weeks ago is still in the best viewing place. Not recommended for people under the age of 16, this sensual fiction has won the platform subscribers who love this type of content combining thrilling thrillers, family dramas and scary romances.
Despite an average rating of 2.9 out of 5 given by AlloCiné viewers, L’Amour trumped success for the platform, garnering more than 9.5 million views during its first week of broadcast.
What is “Deceived Love”?
Created by Pappi Corsicato, the mini-series Love Deceived is a remake of the British series Doubt, which is produced by Italian actress, writer and playwright Monica Guerritore (Squadra Criminale, You Can Kiss the Groom) and Italian-Canadian actor Giacomo Gianniotti. Best known for his role as DeLuca on Grey’s Anatomy.
At the helm of a prestigious hotel on the Amalfi Coast, Gabriela is an elegant woman who proudly displays her sixties, despite the fact that her life has become monotonous. Until she meets Elijah: a lively, free boy, the same age as her eldest son, who exerts an irresistible and terrifying charm on her.
Despite the age difference, Gabriela rediscovers herself as a lover. For Elijah, he is ready to risk everything, even his relationship with his children and their inheritance.
Did you like “Deceived Love”? Then you will like…
The mini-series “Deceived Love” is a horror fiction that plays on a very sensual romance and that relies on its very charismatic casting and the taboo of age difference (we specified that consent between adults). And it’s not recommended for under 16s for nothing.
But it’s still full of twists and turns, as the background is based on a family drama with lots of secrets, conspiracies and betrayals, as well as investigations that push fiction to the side of thriller.
