promised, deed. Announced in 2023, the series Cruel Intentions (Sex Intentions) will hit our screens very soon. Prime Video recently released the trailer for Season 1, and despite some differences from the 1999 film, the atmosphere and tone is pretty faithful.
The series takes place at the prestigious University of Washington. Two students, ruthless half-brother and half-sister, will do anything to stay at the top. After a brutal abuse incident threatens the entire university system, they will do anything to maintain their power and reputation – even if it means seducing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States.
Les Liaisons Dangereuses, repeated again
The famous French novel by Choderlos de Laclos, adapted many times for film and television, once again became the inspiration for these cruel intentions: it is a question of power and the domination of others, reputation, seduction and the game of romance… Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon, Prime The video here focuses on lesser-known faces:
Sarah Catherine Hook (Conjuring 3: Under the Devil’s Sway) as Caroline, Zach Burgess (All Right) as Lucien, Hobie Clarke (Yellow Jackets) as Scott, Brooke Lena Johnson (You) as Beatrice. Finally, Sarah Silva (Boys) was cast as CeCe.
On paper, this edgy teen series has everything to please the Prime Video audience. And the trailer gives us a good preview of what’s to come, even if this new version of Cruel Intentions aims to be a little more modern, with Annie Grover’s (Savanah Lee Smith) character not going to be easily seduced.
The meeting is scheduled for November 21.
