Born in Santa Monica, California in 1936, Robert Redford began his career in television in the early 1960s, starring in various series such as Maverick, Perry Mason and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
In 1965, he experienced his first major film success with Robert Mulligan’s Daisy Clover, for which he won the Golden Globe for Male Newcomer of the Year. It was during the late 1960s and especially during the 1970s that he experienced his greatest success, especially thanks to the duo he formed with one of the great stars of the time, Paul Newman.
