The actress Selena Gomez reprises his role as Alex Russo on reboot Wizards Beyond Waverly Placesequel to the hit Disney series. In the premiere episode, Alex arrives at his brother’s house, Justin Russoplayed by David Henriebringing a new mission: helping a young sorceress train her powers. The new series debuts on October 29th node Disney Channel and, the next day, it arrives in the catalog of Disney+.

The new version of Wizards of Waverly Place start “after a mysterious incident at Feitiço Tec, where Justin Russo (David Henrie), now an adult, chose to leave his powers behind to live a normal, human life with his wife and two children.”

Although, “he ends up being surprised when a young witch, in need of training, appears on his doorstep… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizarding World”, Complete the synopsis.

In the pilot’s opening scene, Alex Russo surprises his brother by showing up on his doorstep, along with Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown), who comments on her apparent discomfort upon arriving through the front door. After a fun exchange, Alex reveals the real reason for his visit: to introduce Billie to his new mentor, Justin, who chose to lead a “normal” life as a mortal, until he is once again involved in matters of the magical world. According to the official synopsis, “Justin must regain his magical abilities to train the young sorceress and protect the future of the Wizarding World, while trying to balance his everyday life.”

The cast also features Alkaio Thiele in the role of Roman Russo and Max Matenko as Milo Russocontinuing the magical family dynamic. David Henrie, who also participated in the production, highlighted the importance of creating a friendly environment on set:

From day one, my and Selena’s goal was to recreate that family culture in the workplace… And I think that will be visible on screen.
