Two Embraer T-27 Tucano aircraft, from Brazilian Air Force (FAB)collided during training in Pirassununga, in the hinterland of Sao Paulo. There are no victimsaccording to FAB.
A plane landed safely; the other was headed towards an uninhabited region. The pilot managed to carry out the aircraft ejection procedures and was rescued by the FAB rescue team.

The institution confirmed that the accident involved two aircraft used for the training of cadets of the Air Force Academy (AFA), one of the main training institutions of the FAB and responsible for the training of the air force’s military pilots .
Initial information shows that the rudder of one aircraft collided with the propeller of the other, causing serious damage to both Tucano planes. “The Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents (CENIPA) will investigate the accident in order to identify possible factors that contribute to preventing the recurrence of similar events,” the FAB said in a statement.
This is the second accident involving FAB aircraft in less than 10 days. On October 22nd, a fighter plane crashed near Parnamirim air basein the metropolitan region of ChristmasIn Rio Grande do Norte.
In the accident the pilot also managed to carry out the ejection procedure. The plane crashed in a wooded area near residential apartment blocks in the city of Parnamirim. Before the crash, the plane was recorded by some members of the public as catching fire at the rear. Other planes were seen training in the region.
Defense Minister José Múcio said this in an interview with CNN Brasil that the pilot of the F-5M fighter was “skilled” in bringing the aircraft into open terrain and ejecting.
