Spotted: Fiat Grande Panda, successor to Mobi and Argo, begins testing in Brazil

The Compact will be produced in Brazil and will also have versions with Fiat’s new light hybrid flex system which will debut in November on the Pulse and Fastback

Intended to replace the current generations of Fiat Mobi and Argo, the Grande Panda has been spotted for the first time on national soil. Revealed in June in Europe, the hatch had two units photographed at Viracopos airport in Campinas. The image, taken by Marcos Paiva Pontes, was published on the journalist’s Instagram João Anacleto (check below).

Manufactured in Serbia, the model must undergo engineering testing in the country to adapt to Brazilian road conditions. The Grande Panda uses the CMP modular platform, the same as the Citroën C3 family. In addition to combustion engines, the architecture is also compatible with hybrid and electric powertrains. With the gradual electrification of the Italian automaker’s lineup, the compact car is likely to also receive the mild hybrid system that is about to debut on the Pulse and Fastback in November.
