This Sunday, candidates will take language, humanities and writing tests in 1,753 municipalities
Around 4.3 million candidates participate on the first day National high school exam (Enem 2024)this Sunday, 3, in 1,753 Brazilian municipalities. In addition to the written test, candidates will be subjected to language and human science tests. The application will last 5 hours and 30 minutes. The second day, dedicated to natural science and mathematics tests, will take place on November 10th.

According to the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep)body of Ministry of Education (MEC) responsible for the exam, the majority of those enrolled have already finished high school (1.8 million). Another 841,546 (19.4%) registrations were made by 1st or 2nd year students, while 24,723 (0.6%) ‘trainees’ – as those who do not attend or have finished high school are called – chose to participate in Enem to test your knowledge.
In this edition, 65,758 requests for specialist care were approved, 29,955 requests from people with attention deficit and another 8,622 from registrants with low vision. In total, 115,501 accessibility resources will be made available. Additional time was the most requested resource (42,929), followed by differentiated correction (20,201), reading assistance (16,348) and transcription assistance (11,063). Furthermore, 822 requests for treatment by company name were responded to.
Many public and private educational institutions use Enem to select students. Exam scores can also be used in selection processes at Portuguese institutions that have an agreement with the Brazilian government.
180 questions in 2 days of exams
This Sunday, candidates take language tests (40 questions in Portuguese and 5 in English or Spanish), humanities (45 questions) – as well as writing tests.
On the 10th, participants take assessments in natural sciences (45 questions) and mathematics (45 questions). The request will last 5 hours, starting from the authorization of the room manager for the start of the tests.

How late can I arrive to take the Enem?
Gates open at 12pm, early arrival is recommended. Gates close at 1pm and the race starts at 1.30pm. It is not possible to enter after the gates close. The end of testing on the first day of Enem is 7:00 pm, while on the second day of testing it is 6:30 pm.
Candidates may leave the testing area without the question book from 3.30pm. If you want to bring your question book with you, you must leave at 6pm. Anyone who leaves before 3.30 pm will be eliminated from the race.
The Enem 2024 application will follow Brasilia time:
- Gates open: 12.00
- Gates closing: 1pm
- Start of rehearsals: 1.30pm
- End of tests 1st day: 7.00pm
- End of tests 2nd day: 6.30pm
How do I know where I will take the Enem test?
Candidates for Enem 2024 can check the location of the test using the Registration Confirmation Form which is sent by post and is also available on the Enem Participant Page, on the official Inep website. The search can also be carried out by calling 0800 616161.
On the Participant Page, follow the steps:
- Log in with your CPF and Gov.br password;
- In the side menu, click on ‘Application’;
- In the chat, click the blue “Test Location” button.

Basic recommendations
- Make sure you confirm your registration and the location where you will take the tests in advance.
- Arrival at the test location indicated on the registration confirmation card starting from 12:00 (Brasilia time).
- Present yourself at the door of the testing room by 1pm for identification procedures.
- Present yourself at the exam location with a valid identification document, otherwise you will be prevented from taking the exam.
- Please wait in the exam room from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm (Brasilia time) until you are authorized to start the exam, following the administrator’s instructions.
- Do not leave the room with your application materials, except the question booklet, provided that, in this case, you leave the room permanently in the last 30 minutes before the end of the test.
