Anyone attending Wickeda film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, will see Ariana Grande(Don’t Look Up), which interprets Glindacredited as Ariana Grande-Butera. But why?

In an interview with The Streaming Service podcastthe actress and singer revealed why she decided to use her given name instead of her artistic name in the new film, which hits Brazilian cinemas at the end of this month:

“That was my name when I went to see the play when I was ten. And it seemed like a really lovely way to honor that. It felt like I was coming full circle and I felt like it was the right thing to do.”explained Ariana.

What is the story of Wicked?

Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo, Harriet), before becoming the Wicked Witch of the Westand Glindathe future Good Witch of the Southwho become best friends, even with opposing personalities, different points of view and the fight for the love of the same man.
