What is the story of Mickey 17?
The film is based on Mickey7book by Edward Ashtonand takes place in a future in which crew members are chosen as “disposable” to carry out dangerous space colonization missions on behalf of everyone. When the chosen one dies in action, he is cloned and his copy assumes the responsibilities, continuing the service.
However, during one of these procedures, one of the “disposables” ends up surviving after being left behind. Reported dead by his mission colleagues, he manages to return to the ship, but discovers that his successor is already alive, working and not interested in abandoning his post.
