Luana Bertolucci returns to Orlando Pride after completing cancer treatment

The American and Brazilian team player was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April

Player Luana Bertolucci returned to Orlando Pride activities after finishing chemotherapy in October of this year. Luana, who also played for the senior national team, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in April, after undergoing extensive tests.

She was greeted joyfully by the other players, who brought purple balloons – the color of Orlando Pride – and gave her a gift. The teammates created a prize, in the shape of a ball, with photos of Luana with the team. On social media the Brazilian thanked her for her affection. “This team is special. They supported me every step of the way. It’s more than just football, it’s family ‘pride’,” the player wrote.

Since being diagnosed with cancer, Luana has been monitored not only by Orlando Pride doctors, but also by the Brazilian team. Team Brasil also celebrated the player’s return on social media, wishing him “full of joy”.

Other Brazilian women are also part of Orlando Pride. The main name is Marta. In addition to her, Adriana, Angelina and Raffaelle complete the team, together with Luana.
