Where was the series “Like Water for Chocolate” filmed?

Thanks to the beauty of these places that captured the essence of history, many wondered where exactly his capitals were recorded and here we tell you all about it.

Most of the recordings of “Like Water for Chocolate” took place in 2023 and took place in various rural areas of Mexico, because the natural landscapes managed to recreate the atmosphere of the past, highlighting the family hacienda that is the center of the story and where her love is born Tita and Pedro’s.

According to the “Escapada H” portal, the state of Tlaxcala was chosen for filming because it has 17th century buildings that fit perfectly with the setting that the series required.

Locations in Mexico City were also used for some specific scenes that required urban elements or sophisticated interiors. Historical places in the Mexican capital were adapted to be part of the interior sequences, and some of the most iconic buildings of the historic center provided a suitable background to show life at that time.

This allowed us to create a broad perspective of the context in which Tita, the protagonist, lives without abandoning the faith of the novel and emphasizing the contrast between the rural and urban areas of that time.

A specific example is that in the first chapter we see Tita and her family attending a ball, where Mama Elena is looking for suitors to marry Rosaura, her eldest daughter. It turns out that the building chosen to record the scenes was the building known as the Mexico City Congress, which is located on Calle de Donceles in Mexico City.

The combination of these country and city locations helps the series maintain its connection to the history and culture of Mexico, providing an environment that brings out the magical and emotional essence of the story.
