High Potential is a pretty promising start on ABC. In its first five weeks on the air, the Kaitlin Olson-led series, directly inspired by our popular HPI with Audrey Fleurot, averaged 10.42 million viewers, making it ABC’s most-watched new series in six years as of 2018. The 2019 season is when The Conners debuted.

The October 22 episode, the show’s fifth episode, even drew 6.83 million viewers in seven days of linear viewing, according to Nielsen data, helping the channel capture the Tuesday night slot for the first time in four years against rival channels.

Including its simulcast on Hulu and Disney+, the episode garnered 10.49 million viewers in one week, a 191% increase over its live, same-day audience of 3.6 million. It’s also up a slight 2% from the previous episode’s 10.31 million viewers.

Adapted for American television by Drew Goddard, high potentialfollows Morgan (Caitlin Olson), a single mother with three children and a special mind who helps solve unsolved crimes while sorting through evidence during her cleaning shift at the police station. When the police discover that he has a talent for fixing things thanks to his high intellectual potential, he is hired as a consultant to work with the experienced and tough detective, Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). Together they form an unusual and unstoppable team. Anyway, you know the story!

In addition Caitlin Olson (It’s always sunny in Philadelphia) and Daniel Sundiata (Graceland), the series also stars Taran Killam (Saturday Night Live), Javicia Leslie (Batwoman), Denise Akdeniz (Flight Attendant), Amira Jay (Shameless) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs, Devious Maids).

High Potential does not yet have a release date in France. In the meantime, our very French HPI can still be seen streaming on TF1+ and Disney+.
