The text has not been deposited, but it is already causing discussion; The proposal opens a loophole for the creation of the 4×3 work week in Brazil
Although it did not obtain enough signatures to begin processing, the Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) written by the federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) What predicts the end of the 6×1 ladder (six days of work, one day of rest) is already in tune with his peers Chamber of Deputies.
The proposal was born after the outburst in a post on social media by a TikToker elected councilor of Rio de Janeiro who preached the end of the 6×1 journey. Rick Azevedo obtained more than 29 thousand votes and the movement he created, the VAT (Life Beyond Work movement)it already has more than 1.4 million signatures.
The idea was taken up by the MP Erika Hiltonwhich now requires the signature of 171 of the 513 federal deputies, so that it can be registered and processing can begin. After six months, around 90 have arrived, many of these signatures collected in the last few days after the repercussions on social media that the issue has had.
Demonstrations for and against
One of those who signed in favor of the proposal was Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP). Without mentioning the date, he claims to have signed it and claims that it is a global agenda. Rick Azevedo took advantage of Boulos’ announcement to ask for help with the project, as well as asking to be cited as the movement’s creator.
Thank you for your support, Deputy. It is very important to have you with us. But next time could you cite me as the creator and founder of the IVA movement, which gave rise to this struggle? And, in addition to signing, is there a way you could use your influence to arrange a meeting with…

Among those who have already spoken out publicly against it is Amon Mendel (Citizenship-AM). In addition to saying that there is already a proposal to reduce working hours for 2019 – which he has not taken forward – Mendel claims that this will damage the economy, according to a post written last Saturday 9th.
Regarding the 6×1 scale: I tend to think that this will hurt our economy, but I can be convinced otherwise. I asked our staff to perform an independent study and literature review.
Anyone who is civil and wants to dialogue and present arguments should feel free.

PEC for the end of the signed 6×1 scale!
The fight for the working class is fundamental and I am the result of it: I too exercise the mandate!
As a politician I work for the people and not vice versa.
In the midst of the workload I hadn’t looked at the PEC yet, but… pic.twitter.com/hgpuk7OQSy

Several deputies are under pressure on their social networks to sign the text. One of them is Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG)who expressed his defense of the continuity of the 6×1 system through a story on Instagram. After his placement, he received several comments asking for his signature, many of which reached thousands of likes. One of these comments reached more than 13 thousand likes.
Find out more about the proposal
The Life Beyond Work (VAT) movement, started by TikTokers and PSOL-RJ elected councilor Rick Azevedo, aims to abolish the 6×1 working hours, foreseen by the CLT. According to its supporters, the proposal reflects discussions already underway around the world in favor of more flexible working models, which aim at a better quality of life and respect for workers’ free time. The movement criticizes the 6×1 working day because it causes exhaustion and affects the health and well-being of workers, proposing a 4×3 working day without a reduction in wages.
So far, MP Erika Hilton has collected around 90 of the 171 signatures needed from federal deputies to draw up the PEC. The lack of sufficient signatures prevents discussion of the proposal in Congress from moving forward.
