Katy Perry celebrates The Substance, with Demi Moore: ‘Best film of the year’

The singer used her social media to praise the film, which won the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival and is nominated for the 2025 Oscar.

Katy Perry is another avowed fan of The Substancefeature film starring Demi Moore (Indecent Proposal) and Margaret Qualley (Types of Kindness), which was one of the biggest highlights of this year’s cinema.

The singer used her social networks to praise the film Coralie Fargeat (Revenge), which won the award for Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival, in May, and is expected to appear in the main categories at the 2025 Oscars, scheduled for March.

What is the story of The Substance?

The Substance narrates the decline of her career as an actress Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore), who agree to try a mysterious drug. At first glance, the substance has extraordinary properties, being able to replicate cells and temporarily generate a rejuvenated and improved version of itself, in the form of Sue (Margaret Qualley).
