Atlético will be denounced in two articles for problems in the Copa do Brasil final and could be severely punished
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) will request the closure of the MRV Arena following the acts of violence and vandalism recorded during the Copa do Brasil final, played this Sunday (10), won by Flamengo.
The STJD will report the Minas Gerais club on the basis of articles 211 and 213 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice. He will also ask for the stadium to be closed, at least until the trial.
Article 211 provides for a fine of up to R$100,000. Furthermore, the stadium will be closed if the club “does not maintain the place indicated for the event with the infrastructure necessary to guarantee full guarantee and safety for its holding”.
Article 213 provides for the loss of control of the pitch for a maximum of 10 matches. Also a fine of 100 thousand reals, for “failure to adopt suitable measures to prevent and repress disturbances in one’s sports area; invasion of the pitch and throwing of objects onto the pitch”.
In the match summary, referee Raphael Claus reported all the problems that happened at the MRV Arena. The judge also reported the bombs, the use of lasers and the attempted invasions of the lawn.
