Cat’s Eyes: Who is MB14 aka Mohamed Belkhir, Quentin Chappuis’ translator in the series?

After months of waiting, the first two episodes of Cat’s Eyes have finally aired on TF1. A chance to find Constance Labbe (Celia), Camille Lou (Tamara) and Claire Romain (Alexia) in new fiction. Particularly ambitious, the series can rely on a grand setting and a great cast.

In addition to Carole Bouquet (Hélène) and Elodie Fontan (Prudence), MB14 also features in the cast. And the least we can say is that the young man is particularly convincing as Quentin Dupuy. Especially when we know that this is only his second role.

Indeed, Mohamed Belkhir, his real name, is first and foremost a musician. Born on June 19, 1994, he rose to prominence thanks to his participation in season 5 of The Voice. When he discovered the world of rap at the age of 12, it was a revelation and immediately began writing his first lyrics.

MB14 is a beat-box specialist

In 2010, he specialized in the art of beat boxing by watching online tutorials. Immediately he had the idea of singing and accompanying. He quickly became a one-man band thanks to his loop station. He then chose to name himself MB14 in reference to his favorite number and of course his initials.

What sets the MB14 apart is its prowess in the loop. Using a loop pedal, he records live layers of sounds that he overplays, creating almost orchestral performances from just his voice. His performances are often compared to those of English artist Birdman, a pioneer in the field of live looping.

In 2015, he won the youth springboard at the Picardie Mouv3 festival. In the same year, he joined the Toulouse group Berywam, with whom he became the French team beatbox champion in 2016, and then the world champion in 2018.

2016 is a blessing! Taking second place after Slimane in the finale of season 5 of The Voice, the young man introduced himself to the general public. In 2021, he returns to participate in the All-Star season of the show. He will take third place behind Louis Delort and Anna Silas.

MB Comedy will be released in 2022

But in 2022, the artist decided to make a 180-degree turn with Claude Zid’s film, The Tenor, and tried his hand at comedy. He plays the character of Antoine alongside Michel Laroque.

In 2023, MB14 tried his luck on the show Britain’s Got Talent, where he quickly won over the judges and the public thanks to his talent as a beatboxer and performer. Her appearance so impressed hosts Ant and Dec7 that they awarded her the prestigious Golden Buzzer, giving her direct access to the live semi-finals, the deciding stage of the competition. Unfortunately, it has been liquidated at this stage.

That same year, he was cast as Quentin Chappuis cat eyes. Thus he signs his first role on television. An extraordinary fate! Join us on November 18 to discover the rest of these three heroes’ adventures like no other on TF1.
