Cartoon Netflix is preparing the reboot of two of its most famous original content: “The Powerpuff Girls” and “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends”.
The projects are developed by Craig McCracken, creator of both series, who will return to the role of producer of the new attractions.
But while the next few episodes of “The Powerpuff Girls” will once again see Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup take on new and old foes, pretty much like a sequel, “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” will be restarted in the traditional sense, with a new cast of friends. imaginary. , described by Cartoon Network as “silly and playful like the original group”.
Released in 1998, “The Powerpuff Girls” won two Emmy Awards and numerous accolades over six seasons. But it hasn’t aired in a long time, because after its original ending in 2004 it returned in a recent second series, which aired from 2016 to 2020.
“Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” was also awarded an Emmy – it won six trophies – and ran for six seasons the same way, between 2004 and 2009. But so far it hasn’t been continued.
The two original series are available in the HBO Max catalog. The new episodes are produced by Hanna-Barbera studios in Europe and do not have a preview date.
