Purple November: Moinhos de Vento Hospital promotes an awareness action at Shopping Total


Participants will be able to ask questions and seek information on the causes and consequences of premature birth

On the occasion of Purple November, the international month of awareness of prematurity, the Moinhos de Vento Hospital and the Moinhos de Vento Faculty of Health Sciences are promoting, this Thursday (14th), from 10am to 2pm, an awareness campaign at the Shopping Center Total, in Porto Alegre.




The initiative is managed by the Hospital’s Neonatology Service. Nurses and nursing technicians from the neonatal intensive care unit, as well as students from the Faculdade Moinhos, will distribute leaflets to raise awareness among the population about the causes and consequences of premature birth, as well as clarifying public doubts about the importance of care and prenatal information on prematurity.

According to the Ministry of Health, Brazil is currently in 10th place in the world ranking of countries with the most early births, with approximately 302 thousand births of children with less than 37 weeks of gestation, regardless of weight.
