Jordan Peele Reveals Meaning of Film Name No! Do not look!

In English, No! Do not look! it’s called Nope – it was originally going to be Little Green Men

One of the most anticipated movie releases of 2022, No! Do not look! has direction of Jordan Peeleresponsible for Run! (2017) and We (2019), and has several mysteries regarding the plot. However, the filmmaker commented on the meaning behind the English title: nope.

During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, peel talked about the film scheduled for release on August 25, 2022 in Brazilian theaters. The original title was little green men (“Little Green Men,” in free translation), but the director decided to change it during filming. Because of that, he found the perfect title, which felt unique and ideal for this narrative.

“When I was writing the script, it was called little green men,” revealed the filmmaker. “You know, I always talk about something human, a human flaw, and there was something about our connection to spectacle and money and our monetization of spectacle. So the little green men I started talking about were the little green money men.”

“But, you see how it sounds, it looks like some kind of Redbox, like 2003, like the vehicle of Jeff Fahey. I don’t mean the little green men,” he continued. Jordan Peele. “I’m like, no, it’s not. There’s a lot of names I’d come up with in my head, and at the end of the day, the movie felt unique. nope was the only thing I could say to describe it.”
