Petrobras signs agreements with Yara for technical cooperation and industrialization of ARLA 32

Petrobras said on Monday it has signed two agreements involving Yara and its subsidiary Araucária Nitrogenados (ANSA), moving forward in building a potential partnership in the fertilizer and industrial products segments.

The first agreement involves the marketing by Yara of the Automotive Liquid Reducing Agent (ARLA 32), which will be prepared using urea as a raw material supplied by the fertilizer company.

The ARLA 32 will be produced at the ANSA factory located in Paraná, which has been in hibernation since 2020 and is expected to return to operation in May 2025.

“This agreement will allow the resumption of domestic production of the product, which is currently imported. The industrialization process will take place in parallel with the activities of full resumption of the activity of the Araucária factory,” Petrobras explained.

The second agreement provides for technical cooperation for the development of joint studies in the sectors of fertilizers and related industrial products. It also includes energy transition efforts related to decarbonization projects and the production of renewable, low-carbon fertilizers.

“This scientific, technological and operational cooperation aims to achieve greater production efficiency and increase the supply of these products on the market,” the statement reads.
