The candidates for the presidency of Flamengo participated this Monday (18th) in a live debate, promoted by ESPN. When asked about Gabigol, who announced his departure from the team after winning the Copa do Brasil, candidate Maurício Gomes de Mattos appreciated the club and did not fail to contact the current board of directors regarding the promises made to the athlete.
– Nobody is above Flamengo. Coach, player, you have to respect rules and behaviors. But how can you respect it if there is no professionalism in Flamengo football? And Rodrigo (Dunshee) says that the management should not be 100% professional, as he has already stated. Several things happened that led to such a bad outcome. Gabigol is an idol, but nothing and no one can be superior to Flamengo. And the contract and the word must be respected – said Mattos.
After six seasons at Flamengo, Gabriel Barbosa has confirmed that, at the end of his contract with the Rio club, he will leave the team. The contract will last until the end of December this year. – I’m not staying at Flamengo, in recent years there have been negotiations, the president, the management, they shook hands with me, with my father, and then things happened that I really didn’t like. I’ve always discovered things through the podcast, never in person. I spoke with Marcos Braz to stay for two or three years, but there was never an offer from Flamengo,” said Gabigol.

– My team has given you the financial feasibility study of the stadium. When I sit in the chair of the president, I am already ready to know what I have to do, unlike you (Dunshee), who don’t even have a study on the stadium – declared Mattos.
– I have followed closely and we have projects with feasibility studies that we have presented to the mayor and the Caixa. We have a company that only builds stadiums that will present the project in the next few days. Flamengo will not need to go into debt to build the stadium. Saying you’re in favor of the stadium isn’t exactly the truth. You did not vote in favor of the stadium, as did Eduardo Bandeira de Mello. We know this because the list is public – Dunshee replied.

– Another lie that you (Dunshee) are commenting on is about the people who are with me and who somehow tried to sell the club. The president was the one who discussed the SAF issue at Flamengo, he was the one who brought this issue to Flamengo – Baptista said.
– Landim has received a purchase offer from Flamengo, for 49%. You know it’s a fact, there are documents. It was you (BAP) who brought SAF to Flamengo. I have always been against SAF, Flamengo cannot be sold – replied Dunshee.
