In November 2023, France 2 aired Sambre, a scathing mini-series adapted from a news story that covered the hunt for a man nicknamed “The Violent of Sambre,” a man who had assaulted and raped women with impunity for nearly thirty years.
Adapted from the book Sambre, news radioscopy By Alice Gérard, this mini-series was supervised by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, a director known for his work on Laetitia, a mini-series that tells the tragic story of Laëtitia Perrais.
And after the critical success of these two fictions, the author and director tackle another equally thorny subject: the attacks of November 13, 2015.
A series about survivors of attacks
Between Les Spies de la Terror (a series currently on M6 covering the hunt for the sponsors of the attacks) and Une Amie Dévoué (which follows Chris, a woman posing as a Bataclan victim), this is the time. The victims of the attacks will be the focus of this mini-series called Des Vivants.
Marie and Arnaud, Caroline, Sébastien, Grigor, Stéphane and David form a group of self-proclaimed “potages” (a contraction of “partners” and “hostages”). On the evening of November 13, 2015, they confronted the terrorists for more than two hours in the narrow corridor of the Bataclan.
From their survival, a unique and unbreakable bond was born. In this way, Jean-Xavier de Lestrade tells the story of their meeting and their struggle to rebuild themselves in order to move on with their lives.
The 6-episode series, written and directed by Antoine Lacombley and Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, will shoot in Paris from November 18 to January 17, then in the Hauts-de-France from February 17 to April 5. French region.
5 star cast
As usual, Jean-Xavier de Lestrade called famous actors to film his series. He once again called Alix Poisson, who played one of the victims of Sambri’s abuser. For this occasion, she portrays the character of Marie.
Comédie-Française’s Benjamin Laverne, soon to be on the En fanfare bill, will play Arnaud, while Antoine Reinartz (120 bpm) will step into Grigor’s shoes.
Starring Felix Moat (Le Grand Bain), Anne Stephens (The Playlist), Thomas Goldberg (The New Button War) and Cedric Eckhout. The series should be released on France 2 in 2025.
