Chapada dos Veadeiros

Goias

Made up of five municipalities (Alto Paraíso, Cavalcante, Teresina de Goiás, Colinas do Sul and São João d’Aliança), it is almost impossible to list all the waterfall possibilities in this tourist region in the north-east of Goiás.

Among the favorites of Travel by farewe point out those of the Complexo do Prata, in Cavalcante, and Label, in São João da Aliança, considered the highest in the state, with 187 meters of height.

Serra do Roncador

Mato Grosso

More than 500 km from Cuiabá, the destination is famous for the waterfalls that hide in the cracks that cut through the valleys of this imposing mountain range that reaches up to the Serra do Cachimbo, in Pará.

In Barra de Garças alone, the base town for those visiting the destination, there are more than 100 waterfalls (17 of which are in the Bateia Complex, one of the most exclusive and isolated attractions in the region).

There is a waterfall that is accessed through a cave, where it is possible to reach it behind the veil of water, a waterfall inside a canyon decorated with centuries-old Jatobá trees and also one where (almost) no one knows where it is, but which will make you revise your concepts of natural scenic beauty.

Chapada Diamantina

Bay

From Salvador it is 420 km to Lençóis, the main base for those visiting the region.

From there, several trails lead to some of Brazil’s highest waterfalls, such as the powerful 340-meter-high Cachoeira da Fumaça in Vale do Capão.

Chapada das Mesas

220 km from Imperatriz, where the main gate of the destination is located, this plateau is known as Paraíso das Águas.

President Figueiredo

Amazon

Located in the Lower Rio Negro, north of Manaus, the “Land of Waterfalls” has more than 100 cataloged waterfalls.

All this in the middle of the woods and among caves, caves and waterfalls of all sizes. During the river’s flood season, between February and June, you can also go rafting, tubing, kayaking, ziplining and abseiling.

And to avoid making mistakes when choosing your favorite waterfall, remember that the options range from crowded addresses that look like weekend clubs to more isolated and difficult to access waterfalls.
