The actress starred in the Broadway musical ‘The Color Purple’
Cynthia Erivo performed an unusual warm-up before performances on Broadway. She played Celie in the musical The Color Purplewhich earned him a prize Tony for Best Actress in a Musical.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times (via People), Erivo was asked about a rumor, until then, that she ran a half marathon on the same day she presented two shows.
“I made a promise to myself that if I could finish this half-marathon in Brooklyn with enough time to go home and prepare, I would do it,” the actress recalled.

“I finished in one hour and 37 minutes,” she said, before adding that the 21km run made the performances, lasting around two and a half hours each, “painful but glorious” that day.
She added, “The first thing I do on the show is kneel. And after running so much, especially if you’ve never done it before, your body is like, ‘What’s going on?'”
Cynthia Erivo stars the prequel to The Wizard of Oz (1939) alongside Ariana Grande. Wicked opens in Brazilian cinemas this Thursday, 21st.
