The CBF will bring important innovations after the gaps in Fonte Nova

The entity had its hands tied for the duel against Uruguay, at the Salvador Arena (BA); understand what the change will be

The CBF was not happy with the empty spaces in the stands of the Arena Fonte Nova in the Brazilian team’s 1-1 draw against Uruguay last Tuesday (19). Therefore, the entity that controls Brazilian football must change the way it sells tickets for Brazilian matches.

According to a “CNN” publication, this Wednesday (20th), the day after Brazil’s stumble, the CBF will no longer play matches in stadiums where it has no autonomy in ticket sales. This was, in fact, the case in the match against Uruguay, given that it was the management of the Arena Fonte Nova who set the prices.

There were many complaints about the prices. They ranged from R$100 to R$800, including the cheapest half and the most expensive full. According to the CBF itself, 41 thousand people went to the stadium to watch the duel, valid for the Qualifiers. The Arena Fonte Nova has a capacity of 48,902 fans.

And in 2025?

Therefore, it is already expected that Brazil’s next home match, only in March 2025, will take place in an “independent” stadium, so that issues related to ticket sales can be resolved. The match in question is against Colombia, in the 13th round, and sees Beira-Rio, from Porto Alegre (RS), as favourites.
