An adaptation of the famous video game franchise created by Capcom, it seeks to further deepen the mythology of the license, namely behind the scenes of the diabolical company Umbrella, responsible for the creation and spread of the terrible T-Virus…

Diary of a Geek : “Warning Resident Evil fans, we have an adaptation on our hands that is (finally) worth seeing. In this new production, Netflix presents a two-pronged plot that is particularly effective at keeping our attention. Also, the realization clichés dampen our enthusiasm somewhat, though in the end it seems We are polluted by feeling too little.

IGN France : “Resident Evil Netflix’s final proposition remains credible and manages to skillfully use the license to make the proposition palatable to viewers. Overall, we had a good time watching this first season, with the ending very clearly offering a sequel.”

variety : “Resident Evil doesn’t reinvent the zombie survival genre. The series juggles too many storylines without focusing on one vision. Fans of the franchise can find sweet moments amid this doomsday tale. Lance Reddick also gives a dynamic performance as the story progresses. But when he disappears from the screen, his absence It can be felt.”

indieWIRE : “For a first season, Resident Evil is a pile of ambition that will likely satisfy very few fans of the franchise (video game, movie, or both).”

Telerama : “Resident Evil appears to have been designed by Netflix sales to appeal to gamers and satisfy its subscribers. On the one hand, a thriller with strong adolescent accents. On the other hand, post-apocalyptic survival with a faded pseudo-anti-capitalist subtext – and ironic, since the series has everything from a manufactured product. (…) In short, the Resident Evil films were not good, the series is not better.”

Open the screen : The Resident Evil series could have been inspired by (good) video games, or at least tried to be a good zombie and apocalypse story. He would rather be the deformed child of The Walking Dead and Milla Jovovich spin-offs. The failure is so colossal and mind-boggling it’s almost laughable.

Collider : Some of the ideas in Resident Evil have merit, but they are handled in the most empty and mundane way possible. The script appears to have been placed on Google Translate multiple times to then be given to actors who apparently have never heard the English language before. “
