One day after the official launch of Wicked in Brazilian cinemas, the soundtrack for the adaptation of the hit Broadway musical arrived on audio platforms this Friday, November 22nd. However, for now, only the original version of the songs, led by Cynthia Erivo (Harriet) and Ariana Grande(Don’t Look Up), are available.
On social media, fans of the work questioned and asked the Universal Music Brazilresponsible for the soundtrack, about the release of the Portuguese version of the songs, in the voices of Myra Ruiz and Fabi Bangwho starred in the story in the theater and now return to dub the film, including adapted versions of the songs, similar to those sung in the Brazilian production of the musical. THE Rolling Stone Brazil contacted the consultancy Universal Music Brazilwhich revealed to us that, despite the fans for the soundtrack of Wicked in Portuguese, There is still no confirmation for the release, unfortunately.
What is the story of Wicked?
Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), before becoming the Wicked Witch of the Westand Glinda (Ariana Grande), the future Good Witch of the Southwho become best friends, even with opposing personalities, different points of view and the fight for the love of the same man.
In addition to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grandethe cast of Wicked still has Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Travel Companions), Bowen Yang (Megaromantic, Saturday Night Live) and Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere at the Same Time), between others. Watch the trailer:
