Roger praises Internacional’s unbeaten record and reaffirms their title hopes

Colorado beats Bragantino 4-1, at the Beira Rio stadium, reaches 65 and will directly face Flamengo, the 1st.

Internacional continues to dream of the Brazilian title and, this Sunday (24th), hosted Bragantino, beating Highlight 4-1 for Wesley, who played a great match. With this result the team remains firmly in third place, with 65 points.

In the press conference after the match, coach Roger Machado declared that the team keeps alive the hope of winning the titles, but that, first and foremost, it wants to guarantee a direct place in the Libertadores. Internacional also reached 16 consecutive matches without losing in the Brasileirão.

“Sixteen unbeaten matches do not happen at any time. This increases optimism, but not excessively, based on random matches. It is the result of a solid construction, with organized matches and a lot of effort on the pitch,” said Roger.

“From that moment on we started to pursue other objectives: to win a place in the Libertadores, then a place in the group stage. This keeps us in the fight and keeps alive the flame of the possibility of winning the title, which mathematically is still possible, but if we don’t do our part, none of this will help,” concluded the Internacional coach.

Now, however, Internacional will face Flamengo, on December 1st, at the Maracanã stadium, in a direct clash for a place in the G4 and also for the title. The match is scheduled for 4pm (Brasilia time).
