5 movies to see at the cinema with kids in the heat

What better way to cool off in a heat wave than to take refuge in dark air-conditioned rooms? Here are 5 movies you should watch as a family.

This Tuesday, July 19, is the hottest day ever recorded in France, with temperatures reaching 41 degrees.

Activities are therefore limited to children. A perfect opportunity to take refuge in dark rooms to enjoy air conditioning and experience a great family adventure.

Here are 5 movies that you should watch with your children.

Buzz Lightyear – from 6 years

Embark on an incredible space adventure with Buzz Lightyear! Derived from the Toy Story saga, the feature film focuses on the character of the Space Ranger and allows us to discover the story of the hero who gave birth to Andy’s Toy.

What they love: Angus MacLaine’s feature film is a true sci-fi film with an iconic character that everyone appreciates.

This opening story paints a portrait of the hero and highlights Baz’s courage, selflessness, but also his flaws. A movie that lets us know that even the biggest heroes are allowed to make mistakes and we are stronger together.

What might be bothering them: A true science fiction movie, Buzz Lightyear takes place in space. So there are aliens, man-eating plants, robots, combat and time travel.

If everything is well explained, it is still necessary to be very attentive to understand everything, hence the fact that this Pixar is aimed more at children of at least 6 years old, unlike the Toy Story films, previously available.

Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru – from 6 years

The Minions are back for a new adventure set in the mid-70s. In this second part, the little yellow creatures already serve Gru, who is nicknamed “Mini-Boss”. When the latter finds himself being pursued by a group of terrifying villains, The Vicious 6, the Minions do everything they can to help him.

What they love: Filled with references to 70s pop culture and silly gags, the feature film from Illumination Studios will appeal to fans of the Despicable Me saga and offer big laughs to young and old alike.

What might be bothering them: Bad guys do bad things… they try to get rid of the leader in the middle of the night, kidnap Gru in the middle of the night, and destroy his house. So many scenes that might unnerve the youngest, but they’re quickly softened by the gags.

Mia and Me – the hero of Kentopia – from 6 years old

Immerse yourself in the magical world of My Sister Mia – the heroine of Centopia for the first time in cinema!

In this feature film, adapted from the series of the same name, a teenager is sent to the magical world of Kentopia to help the elves fight the evil Toxor and his army.

What they love: Like the series, the movie mixes live action and animation (often), making it easy for kids to project themselves and imagine they’re entering the magical world of Centopia. Surrounded by fantastic creatures, young Mia quickly learns that we always need a friend. A mix between Arthur and Minimois and Clochet.

What might be bothering them: From the beginning, we learn that a little girl lives alone with her grandfather after her parents’ disappearance. An exclamation that might alarm the youngest. However, the film does not really contain any scary scenes and always remains good-natured.

Visible since July 20th, but the preview will be held tonight.

Dukobu President! – starting from 7 years old

Dunce Ducobu is back for his fourth cinematic adventure, directed by Elie Semun, who also reprises his role as Latouche.

In Ducobu President!, the comic book hero created by Zydro and God in 1992 is tricked into becoming a student president! Amusement park in the yard, returning from siesta, removing vegetables in the dining room… enough for Latush!

What they love: As the movie will definitely make them think about their class and school, kids will have a lot of fun watching this school students movie. Doucobu’s new, increasingly inventive jokes and tricks, and Eli Semoun’s even crazier performance as Professor Latouche, will keep them amused.

Things can bother them : “Bad” Mr. Flarthf, played by Ari Abitani, a health coach who can scare the youngest.

The Little Band – since 10 years

Director Pierre Salvador returns with La Petite Bande, a children’s adventure that delights the whole family from 10 and up.

In this feature film, Cat, Fouad, Sami and Antoine are twelve years old. Aimee has ten. Out of pride and provocation, they decide one day to set fire to the factory that is polluting their river. Both excited and excited, they then embark on a fun and uncertain adventure in which they learn to live and fight together.

What they love: The energy and vitality of this small group of teenagers who embark on a dangerous environmental mission, all in an exotic Corsican atmosphere. An adventure film reminiscent of the classics War of the Buttons or Timpelbach’s Sons.

What might be bothering them: Young Aimee is bullied and beaten at school before joining his “little gang”. Then a group of teenagers kidnaps and rapes the factory manager. Scenes not suitable for very young viewers.

Visible since July 20th, but the preview will be held tonight.
