I’m Still Here returns to lead the Brazilian box office

Feature starring Fernanda Torres, Selton Mello and Fernanda Montenegro surpassed the 1.7 million viewers mark

Not even Wickedfilm adaptation of the hit Broadway musical starring Cynthia Erivo (Harriet) and Ariana Grande(Don’t Look Up), was able to block the success of I’m Still HereBrazil’s candidate for the 2025 Oscar.

In its third week in theaters, the new feature film Walter Salleswhich recently surpassed the mark of 1.7 million spectators and became the biggest of the filmmaker’s career, once again occupied the first position of the most watched films with R$8.9 million raised.

Wicked came soon after, with R$7.8 million, securing second position; and Gladiator IIsequel to the successful film directed by Ridley Scott (Napoleon), which had led last week, fell to third place with R$7.65 million.

Next, Operation Christmaswith Dwayne Johnson(Black Adam) and Chris Evans(Deadpool & Wolverine), took fourth place with R$1.92 million; and Venom: The Last Round, third and final chapter of the franchise starring Tom Hardy(The Origin), closed the Top 5 with R$1.7 million.

What is the story of I’m Still Here?

Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Hereis set in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1970s, amid the military dictatorship, and tells the story of Eunicemother of five children, who becomes involved in an endless search for the truth after her husband, Rubensbe taken away by undercover police officers and disappear.

The film stars Fernanda Torres (End), Fernanda Montenegro (The Invisible Life), Selton Mello (The Movie of My Life), Maeve Jinkings (Toll), Antonio Saboia (Private Destination), Humberto Carrão (Marighella) and Marjorie Estiano (Under pressure) in the cast.
