landing on a known platform in 2022, Samaritan Julius Avery follows thirteen-year-old Sam Clary (Javon “Wanna” Walton), convinced that his mysterious and lonely neighbor, Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone), is the super powerful vigilante of Granite City.
Although most people think that this hero died in a fire, after a tragic battle with his rival, Nemesis, Sam hopes that he is still alive. When the city is on the brink of chaos and crimes are rampant, a young boy makes it his mission to convince his neighbor to come out of hiding and save the city from destruction.
Never Two Without Three (Superheroes)
We sometimes tend to forget this, but this is not the first time Sylvester Stallone Slips into the skin of a superhero. Recall that in 2017, the iconic actor played the role of Captain Ravager Stakar Ogord on the screen in Guardians of the Galaxy II, and in 2021, he gave his features to King Shark in the movie The Suicide Squad.
But here everything is different, because unlike the previous two blockbusters, Samaritan from Julius Avery is an original film not adapted from a comic book. Created by screenwriter Braji Shute, this brave character also bears a strong resemblance to Batman.
