One of television’s most notorious killers is back. In the first full trailer for Dexter: Original Sin – which serves as a prequel to Dexter – we finally get to see Patrick Gibson step into the shoes of a young Dexter Morgan.
This first season of 10 episodes will be released on December 13 in the United States. In France, of course, on Canal+ we will be able to see this spin-off, but on a date that is currently unknown.
What is Dexter: Original Sin about?
The action takes place in Miami in 1991. We follow Dexter as he goes from a simple student to a serial killer and convict. To complicate matters, Dexter must balance his extralegal activities with a new forensic internship with the Miami Police Department.
According to the synopsis: “When his bloodthirsty desires can no longer be ignored, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. Guided by his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he receives a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be banished from society without being detected by law enforcement.”
Is Michael C Hall in?
We no longer represent Michael S. Hall, who played Dexter on the original Showtime series that aired from 2006 to 2013. After returning for 10 episodes in 2021 with Dexter: New Blood — which some consider a failure — Michael S. Hall decided anyway. Reprising his legendary role, but this time, there is a big change. We won’t see him on screen, he’ll just be there to embody Dexter’s inner voice.
The rest of the cast also includes Molly Brown as Debra, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, and Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey as two new characters.
