“One of the most beautiful films of this autumn”

En fanfare was shown at many festivals and had many premieres. Many netizens have rated the film and shared their enthusiasm. The film’s strengths include its humor and emotion, but also that it avoids clichés.

sylv17 (5/5): “A very moving film I saw today in La Rochelle at a screening of the great Benjamin Laverne. A film about values, illness and classical music. For me it was a positive shock for a beautiful evening.”

Thomas P (4.5/5):A great movie that breaks away from the cliché of a cold, stupid rich man who becomes cool when he comes into contact with a poor, rude, stupid person who knows how to live. The script is original. Lots of very funny moments in a dramatic setting without pathos. A very good performance that allows the actors to express themselves and tell a story without being too theatrical. A success close to the quality of Intouchables. I recommend it.”

Jean-Christophe M (5/5):It’s a very good movie. The different worlds, musical and social, highlighted by this touching story between two brothers is fantastic. Moving, funny, this film is delicate and very well made. to have.”

Remil (5/5): “Certainly one of the most beautiful films of this fall. Benjamin Lavernay and Pierre Lottin are on the move. The pace is sustained and the production is delicate. This movie is a real gem.

A movie that’s a little too predictable?

Among the few flaws cited by some viewers is the script, which can be a bit deja vu or too predictable.

Francois Rou01 (2.5/5): “A little too tearful. This film shows a lot of emotion and the final scene puts a “too” high point on a story we like, served by a very good cast. With “Virtuosos” the Irish did more. A sober and better film on the same subject in my opinion“.

Alice025 (3.5/5): “En Fanfare turns out to be a good movie without revolutionizing the genre. The script remains quite predictable, but this does not prevent these two characters, who seem very different, but in the end, very close. An unpretentious and musically charming French film.

Benjamin Tye (3.5/5):A very charming film, it starts well: with an original set-up that doesn’t reveal too much for the audience to discover. Then we fall into the good feelings and clichés of the North (occupation of factories, mining). Although it is a good time, the interpretation is correct.

Bart Sampson (3/5):To be fair, Fanfare’s film feels somewhat artificial and feels a bit like a rehashed story. Films about brothers adopted by families of opposite backgrounds (life is a long, still river), films about music (here are two brothers, one of whom plays in the symphony and the other in a marching band), films about factory closings (Robert Guediguian). (in production)… As a result, we come away a bit undecided, even though Pierre Lottin and Benjamin Lavergne are very good actors.”

in short

En Fanfare is regarded as a disturbing and exciting film, primarily due to the excellent performances of its lead actors. The mix of humor and emotion is captivating. Some would have liked a film that was less predictable.

En Fanfare is currently in theaters.
