Rose is disturbed by Angel’s arrival
At the institute, Rose meets Carla in the park very early to tell her that she met Angela the day before and that things didn’t go well. Rose admits that she is worried about her daughter-in-law’s arrival, fearing that the latter will try to take her away from her daughter. He also points out that Angel is very good at turning people’s heads, as he did during the trial when several of his friends turned against him. But Carla assures her mother that it will not affect her. He already told Angela that he doesn’t want her to get close to him.
Meanwhile, Olivia meets Angel at the commissary. He delivers the day’s harvest. Olivia is just looking for a pumpkin for her class. Angel doesn’t have one. On the other hand, he offers her some forgotten vegetables. Olivia then offers to accompany him to his sophomore class so he can give them a presentation on his major. If Suleiman finds Angela quite beautiful, Carla stands her ground.
A little later, in the management office, Clotilde asks Antoine for an explanation regarding the institute’s hiring of Angel as a market gardener. The deputy principal reassures his colleague and promises that Angel and Rose will almost never cross paths. Meanwhile, Olivia and Tessier join them in the office. The principal announces that Olivia will be organizing a market gardening module at Angel’s Farm starting next week.
Clotilde immediately warns her sister, who is already worried about her daughter stepping foot in Angel’s house and finding Raphael’s things there. Clotilde then tries to reassure her, convinced that Carla already knows everything about her biological father. Still, Rose’s attitude makes her suspect that the latter hasn’t told her everything. But Rose claims it’s anything but.
At the end of the day, Angel calls Carla as she leaves the institute. He claims that he only accepted the position of market gardener because he needed money to save his farm. But he still takes the opportunity to tell her how much he wants to get to know her, emphasizing that he would be willing to tell her more about his father. However, Carla prefers to keep her distance. In the distance, Rose sees Angel holding her daughter’s hand in a gentle gesture.
Distraught, Rose isolates herself on the grounds of the Institute, where Mark eventually finds her. In fact, they were going to cook together, but Rose never showed up. Noticing that Rose has been crying, Mark questions her. The headmaster then tells her that Angel has a notebook that she kept while she was pregnant with Carla. At the time, however, Rose was frail, medicated by her partner, and untreated for her bipolar disorder. In particular, she wrote that she hated the child she was carrying and wanted to get rid of it. Also, Rose worries that Carla will change her mind if Angel shows her the notebook…
Malik comes off the pedestal
At the workshop, the young master chefs prepare to taste their concept, hoping Malik will like it.
During the day, Enzo, Teissier and Malik come to taste the students’ concepts. After that, Teissier asks Malik to nominate the best project. Young chooses Quentin. Tessier then asks Enzo for his opinion, who chooses Amy’s project instead. The director of the institute agrees. He declares that the young woman’s project is the most successful and advises Malik not to take himself so seriously, because he does not know the difference between quality and fluff.
Back at boarding school, Malik finds comfort with Maya. However, the latter emphasizes how insolent and intolerable he has become by criticizing the work of others.
Alice reevaluates her candidates
In the park, Alice confides to Hortense that she has found the perfect man to fall in love with for the first time: Stanislas du Chesnay. In fact, the day before, Alice found herself appreciating putting the ointment on his finger, especially since he’d asked her permission beforehand. He also emphasizes that being in love with a friend will give him confidence. However, Hortense advises him against going in that direction, explaining that sex can also ruin friendships.
A little later, Stanislas finds Alice in the park and asks her about the progress of her project. The latter reveals that everything has to start from scratch, because he was going to make love with her. Stanislas categorically refuses. Without a word, Alice leaves. The butler is then afraid of stabbing him.
Stanislas and Hortense join Alice at the end of the day. The young man apologizes for his rough treatment, but Alice assures him that he is not hurt. Then he confides to his friends that he will once again consider the score among his candidates. He intends to befriend her before asking her to sleep. For this, Alice came up with the idea of offering to redo the dessert menu at her coffee shop.
