The last episodes of the Karate Kid spin-off series arrive on Netflix in February 2025
Ralph Macchio revealed during a panel at Sony Pictures that the end of the series Cobra Kai promises a “grand finale in the style of 80s films”. Alongside his co-star William Zabkathe actor assured that fans will be satisfied with the outcome planned for the last five episodes of the sixth season, which debut on February 13, 2025.
Regarding the end of part two of the sixth season, Macchio explained that the ‘vibe’ will change in the final chapters. “You need to hit rock bottom to get back up, and that’s kind of where we are,” commented.
I’m very excited. [A série] It’s set up to embrace that great ’80s movie ending that I have a feeling we’ll find and move on from. It feels right to land the plane, Cobra Kai proper… [e que] this chapter is ending.
Zabka also praised the producers’ work and reinforced the positive tone of the ending. “[Os produtores] they get the conclusion right in an unexpected, uplifting and honest way… It’s a great closure for everyone and we’re so grateful we have six seasons to tell this whole story.”
The executive producer Josh Hurwitz said that the final episodes will address the consequences of the tragic incident at the tournament, questioning whether it should continue and how the characters will react to what happened.
We have all these characters that we’ve followed for all these years and this tournament meant so much to all of them in all these different ways. And then it ends like this. So we have five episodes left to find out, will they pick up the pieces? Will the tournament return? How do these characters react to what just happened?
In addition to the series finale, the franchise will expand with a new film titled Karate Kidwhich premieres in May 2025. The film will feature Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, connecting to the 2010 reboot.
