Corinthians confirms the date for the vote on the possible dismissal of Augusto Melo


Through the president of councilors, Romeu Tuma Júnior, Timão’s behind the scenes will be decisive on Monday (2) December




The Corinthians board has decided this Friday (29th) to vote on the possible dismissal of president Augusto Melo. The elections will take place on Monday 2 December. Initially scheduled for the 28th, the event was postponed due to requests made by the São Paulo authorities.

After a new meeting this Friday, representatives of all areas responsible for the elections confirmed the date. The prime minister, Romeu Tuma Júnior, communicated the final decision in a note sent to Timão’s advisors.

Now, with the office closed on the 2nd, as usual at the club, members will have more peace of mind when voting. The forecast is that 300 councilors will participate in the vote and the assembly on the request for the removal of Augusto Melo from the presidency.

“To reassure everyone, I reiterate that the Deliberative Council will take place next Monday, at 6 pm, on first call, at the Mini Ginásio do Parque São Jorge, with second call at 7 pm. In a meeting held in the presence of Dr. Thales, Director of Institutional Relations, Dr. Ricardo Bianchini, lawyer hired by the club, Alexandre Martin, security manager (all representing the Corinthians Management), in addition to Colonel Carvalho, operational commander of the PMESP, of Cmte da Capital, of Cmte.
