once: Nico leaves his family to try to become a member of Santa’s flying reindeer team, where he meets Stella, a talented young reindeer. When Santa’s sleigh goes missing, Nico and his friends head to the frozen north to find him in time to save Christmas.
Nico the Reindeer, Santa’s Mission hits theaters on December 4th.
What they will like: After Niko the Little Reindeer in 2008 and Niko the Little Reindeer 2 in 2012, Finnish director Kari Juussonen teams up with Danish director Jørgen Leerdam for a third adventure featuring the lovable little reindeer so popular with kids!
Due in theaters on December 4, the third installment of the trilogy sees Nico trying to join Santa Claus’ famous flying squad, of which his father Fury is a member. Although disappointed to learn that he will not be returning home for the last holiday of the year, the young reindeer is extremely enthusiastic about participating in this great tradition.
Competing with another determined candidate, Stella, Niko continues to try out for a spot on the team. When the sleigh disappears, it’s the beginning of a whole new adventure that awaits him to save Christmas and distribute presents. Throughout his adventures, Niko takes viewers on a journey through a vast snowy environment that will amaze even the youngest, especially this holiday season.
“In this story, Nico finds himself on an iceberg, heading towards the northern lights and floating through space. The visuals are stunning and I already know that fans of the animated adventure will not be disappointed.” Kari Jusonen says.
Abounding in action scenes to capture children’s attention, the animated film also prides itself on emotion, an essential element in any good film, as the director points out: “I want to be emotionally moved as a viewer, but I’m satisfied at the end of the story when the hero finally fulfills his destiny. I am happy to be able to tell Niko’s story, which . A hero becomes the hero of his own fate”.
Nico is accompanied on his adventures by lifelong friends and supporters, such as his mentor, Julius the squirrel, as well as Wilma the silver. He’ll also meet new creatures like adorable lemmings that will delight the whole family!

What might be bothering them: The appearance of wolves chasing Niko and his friends may scare the youngest viewers, but the situation is quickly defused each time with the arrival of allies, sometimes unexpectedly.
What they will keep deep: Niko the Little Reindeer, Father Christmas Mission supports mutual support, friendship and teamwork, not excessive competition, which is already very relevant in children’s lives, on the field or in sports. The film also reminds us of the importance of recognizing mistakes so we can learn from them.
Ask questions, think, be critical. That’s the message Kari Jussonen hopes to convey to young viewers.

Head to cinemas from 4th December to discover the story of Nico the Little Reindeer, Santa’s Mission.
