Ongoing partnership
Globo is in advanced negotiations with the city of Rio de Janeiro and the production company Bonus Track to facilitate the national broadcast of Lady Gaga’s show on Copacabana beach, scheduled for May 2025. Although the signing of the contract by the city hall has yet to be officially confirmed, the expectation is that the agreement will be finalized shortly.
The deal follows the model adopted this year, when Madonna performed in the same place and period, guaranteeing widespread television and online coverage.
Multi-platform and sponsors
The planning includes the screening of Lady Gaga’s show on open TV on Globo, as well as the broadcast on the Multishow channel and on the Globoplay streaming platform. At the same time, the broadcaster and the city hall negotiate with the sponsors to cover the artist’s fee and all the logistics of the presentation.
Conversations with brands and partners are expected to conclude by December 15, when more details about the event may be announced.
The hotel has already blocked reservations for May
Although the city of Rio and Riotur have not yet officially confirmed the event, the Copacabana Palace, the hotel that hosted Madonna on her last visit to Brazil, has blocked reservations between May 14 and 21, 2025, fueling speculation about the exact date of the .megaspettacolo event.
Lady Gaga in Brazil
Lady Gaga’s last visit to the country was in 2012. The singer was supposed to headline Rock in Rio 2017, but canceled her appearance due to health issues.
