Today in Moscow, the “Kino Fund” defended the “projects of the leaders of domestic films”, where new projects for the coming year were announced and unique shots of some of them were presented. One of these was the musical “Prophet” about the youth of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. The poet will be played by Yura Borisov (“Compartment number six”, “Bull”). In parallel with this, Borisov is working on the film “Summer Will End” and the third season of the series “Peace! Friendship! Gum!”.
The film also starred Paulina Andreeva and Kirill Kovbas. The wife of Fyodor Bondarchuk (recall, it has recently become known that the couple will shoot the TV series “Actresses”) will embody on the screen the youthful love of the writer Avdotya Golitsyna, with whom Pushkin had an affair from 1817 to 1820. Kovbas will play Ivan Pushchin, Pushkin’s friend and classmate at the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum.
The composition of the film crew was not announced at the presentation, so the name of the director will also remain a mystery. However, it has been said that he was inspired by the musical “La La Land” directed by Damien Chazelle when making the film.
The Prophet will be released nationwide on February 14, 2024.
