After winning the autobiography pages The Woman in Methe life of Britney Spears will be portrayed in the cinema. Last August, the Variety revealed that Universal Pictures had acquired the rights to adapt the Princess of Pop’s memoir, released in October 2023, and would bring it to the big screen under the direction of Jon M. Chufrom Wicked. Below, check out what we already know about the new feature:

What to expect from the Britney Spears biopic?

Few details about the production have been revealed so far. In addition to the director, the Britney announced Marc Plattresponsible for features such as La La Land: Singing Seasons (2016) and Cruella (2021), as producer of the feature:

“Excited to announce to my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with Marc Platt. He’s always made my favorite films… Stay tuned”wrote the artist.

Later, in a new post on her social media, the singer gave new details about what she has been calling a “secret project” and stated that it would not be a biopic, but “a fictional musical”: “The project I might do is not a biopic… It’s a fictional musical in which I play an extremely intelligent character. It’s very flattering to be in such good company as Jon Chu”he clarified.

After all, what is Britney Spears’ “secret project” about?

To clarify fans’ doubts, the director Jon M. Chu spoke about the design of the project: “I think it has a lot to do with the way we treat people, young people, the stars we think are ours, women, mothers”he explained, without going into details.

The filmmaker also said that the mystery surrounding the novelty is a way of Britney Spears keep fans curious: “I believe she likes to tease the audience in different ways. So I’ll let that be a mystery on her part. But I’m excited to work with her.”he added.
