Burton and Depp have worked together on several films since the 1990s
Tim Burton does not intend to let go of Johnny Depp.
In an interview with IndieWire (via NME) during the Marrakech International Film Festivallast Saturday, 30, Burton stated that he would not deny a meeting with Depp in a new feature film.
“Well, I’m sure there will be,” said Burton when asked about a possible collaboration with Depp in the future. “I never think, ‘Oh, I’m going to use this actor or that actor’. It usually depends on the project I’m working on. That’s what cinema is all about. It’s about collaboration and exchanging ideas with the people around you.”
Burton and Depp began a partnership in 1990, in Edward Scissorhands. They also worked together on Ed Wood (1994), The Legend of the Headless Horseman (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), The Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Night Shadows (2012).
