Eduardo Taddeo had reported that the shooting by a military police officer had not occurred in self-defense
Summary
The death of a 26-year-old black man, shown by clear images from security cameras, disproves the version presented in the police report by the military police officer who shot. The victim’s uncle, a former member of the Central Faction group, publicized the scenes.

This is demonstrated by the footage from the security cameras of the Oxxo market Gabriel Renan da Silva Soares, assassinated on November 3he was shot in the back at least eight times by military police officer Vinícius de Lima Britto, contradicting the prime minister’s version.
The victim’s uncle, the the rapper Eduardo Taddeo, who published the recording, had denounced the version presented in the police report. The crime occurred in an Oxxo store, on Avenida Cupecê, in Jardim Prudência, south of São Paulo.
In the version presented in the Police Report (BO), the military police officer stated that he saw Gabriel Renan da Silva Soares, a 26-year-old black man, “stealing some goods.” The prime minister approached him and told him it was the police.
According to the verbatim transcript of the police report, “Gabriel stated that he was armed, putting his hand inside his blouse, as if he were armed and stated that he was armed. Which forced Vinicius to fire at Gabriel, who died on the spot.
What the pictures show
In the Oxxo Market security camera video, the military police officer has his back to the victim, out of uniform. At no point does he approach or speak to Gabriel, who leaves the frame as he steals cleaning supplies.
He then runs out of the store and the police officer notices him only for Gabriel to slip on the doormat, falling out. He returns to pick up the packages from the ground, when the policeman fires shots. Then he puts the gun in his waistband and heads towards the victim.
In the Instagram post, the rapper Eduardo Taddeo – who had made a video in front of Oxxo denouncing the murder – wrote that “with the images of the shop it is demonstrated that my nephew Gabriel was cowardly executed”.
Then he states that “there was no approach or arrest, simply eight shots fired in legitimate defense of racism and the capital of the large exploitation conglomerates. It will no longer be a statistical figure”, he promised.
The military police are far from operational activities
The Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) is investigating the case. According to a note from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-SP), “the images mentioned have been captured, added to the documents and are being analyzed to facilitate the establishment of the facts”.
The note also informs that “the victim’s family members have been interviewed and efforts are underway to identify and qualify the witness who hit the victim as he fled the business, moments before being shot”.
The witness who was bumped is a man who was in the doorway of Oxxo Market when Gabriel ran out. “If the criminal responsibility of the military police officer emerges from the investigations, administrative measures will be adopted, including the possibility of disciplinary proceedings which could lead to his exclusion from the Institution,” concludes the SSP-SP.
Visão do Corre contacted the press office of the Oxxo network, but did not receive a response. The report will be updated with the possible positioning of the company.
