Auguste Armand, a student of the institute, reads his mother’s writing and learns the incredible: these lines indicate that Rose was sometimes crazy with happiness next to her husband, sometimes completely depressed. It’s also mentioned that she had a boyfriend before she got pregnant… and that he was none other than Antoine (Frederic Diefenthal)!
