Warning, spoilers! This article discusses the plot and conclusion of Madness. If you haven’t seen the series and don’t want to know what it’s about, don’t read any further.
We didn’t have to wait long to see The Madness top the Netflix charts, as the series was released last Thursday. This effective thriller, which sits somewhere between Fugitive and Night Agent, follows Muncie Daniels, played by Colman Domingo, a TV political reporter who becomes embroiled in a sinister conspiracy. He is wrongly accused of killing a white man while retreating to the Poconos to write a book.
during the interview termColman Domingo has expressed interest in Season 2.
Domingo is on for a second season
During the interview, the actor – whose popularity among the younger generation grew thanks to his role in Euphoria and who was previously seen in Rustin on Netflix – shared his experience working on the series. When he talks about his thoughts on The Madness and his character Muncie Daniels, he makes it clear that he wants to work on a second season.
He stated: “I don’t often say that about a project, because I like to go from project to project and have good moments in the series, and then move on with my life and do other things. In this series, I think Muncie has more to offer. I really want a second season, so we’ll see if they think there’s more of a story to it, so hopefully people will watch.“
Aside from the audience, which is obviously crucial to a possible renewal, it should be noted that Madness was first introduced as a mini-series. However, we’ve already seen other mini-series get extensions thanks to their unexpected success, as was the case with AcharnĂ©s for example.
How does the madness end?
Over the course of eight episodes of Madness, Muncie Daniels fights body and soul to save her skin and her honor. At the end of the series, he finally manages to escape the assassination plot he was the subject of and is now able to enjoy a barbecue with his family. However, it is not certain that his troubles are finally over.
Regarding Mancie and his family problems as he was going through a divorce at the beginning of the series, Colman Domingo said:He must reevaluate and reevaluate his relationship with his wife, two children, and the community he believed he was protecting. But I think in a way the fame took him away from that and he focused on me and not on us.“
If we follow the principle of madness, the second season will throw its hero into a new plot. Can he take on such a challenge again while maintaining his family? We’ll have to wait a while to see what Netflix decides to do with the series.
The Madness is currently available on Netflix.
