A scientific study measured viewers’ heart rates to determine the scariest horror films of the year




A study carried out by the British research centre Broadband choices identified the scariest horror films of 2023 based on viewers’ physiological response. The project”The science of fear” (in Portuguese) monitored the heart rate of 250 participants while they watched 40 horror films. The researchers were thus able to arrive at a result: a list of the films that made the hearts of those who watched them beat the most.
