Kevin Smith explains why his wife and daughter have mixed feelings about Employees III

After returning to View Askewniverse in 2019 with Jay and Silent Bob rebootKevin Smith has once again returned to his cinematic roots Employees III. While Smith has been talking about the trequel ever since employees II released in 2006, Smith ended up revisiting the story a few years ago, with the film now inspired by the heart attack he suffered in 2018. However, it turns out that this is why Smith’s wife and daughter Jennifer Schwalbach Smith and Harley Quinn Smith, have mixed feelings about it Employees III.

as seen in Employees III The trailer which premiered earlier this month, the film follows Jeff Anderson’s Randal Graves suffering from a heart attack and then decides to make a film about his life and that of Brian O ‘Dante Hick. Halloran, working on Quick Stop. . It’s a meta twist on how Smith’s film career began in the mid-1990s, but he explained to uh that his wife and daughter didn’t like pulling comedy out of a horrible time in their lives. In his words:

My wife and son don’t love the movie as much as I do, at least for the first half hour. My wife says, ‘Look, what you find funny right now is the worst time in our fucking lives. And I was like, ‘Well, don’t tell the critics, for God’s sake! It’s too easy a board for them!

That said, once attention has been diverted from Randal’s heart attack, it seems like Jennifer and Harley are more on the same page on what the film has to offer.
